The clock features a white dial with navy chapter ring, applied brass dot hour markers, Roman XII, and dauphine hands, signed “H.C.” to the centre and “7 Jewels” to the lower dial. The movement is a 7-jewel mechanical alarm calibre, typical of post-war German export production, with twin winders and alarm control to the rear. The interior of the case retains its original “Made in Germany” liner, confirming post-1949 West German manufacture. The leather case shows honest wear and patination, consistent with age and use, with scuffing, fading and edge wear. The clock appears complete and intact. The gilt-lined lid is stamped PATENT and inscribed with the initials D.A.. One compartment appears to be lacking its original fitting—possibly a pen holder or other small accessory. Considerable surface wear and leather losses to the exterior, but the hinge remains sound and the mechanism still opens and closes properly. The elaborate applied blossoms and leaves are in the Coalbrookdale (Coalport) flower-encrusted style. Each vase is richly encrusted with polychrome flowers and foliage, framing hand-painted rural and classical scenes: the centre with a temple landscape, flanked by cottages and Gothic ruins. Each figure is beautifully hand-painted and stands on a scroll-moulded base with gilt accents, depicting the classical attributes of Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter. Spring is shown as a maiden holding a garland of flowers; Summer carries a wheatsheaf and sickle; Autumn takes the form of a Bacchanalian youth with grapes and a goblet; and Winter is a bearded man cloaked in fur, warming beside a flaming urn. Each piece bears the underglaze blue crossed swords mark of the Meissen factory, along with impressed model numbers and painter’s marks to the base. Dimensions: Heights range from 19 cm to 20.5 cm (7 1/2 in to 8 in) Condition: Good condition overall.
