Artist Tracey Emin, recently described as someone who "could not think her way out of a paper bag", has designed the invitations to the launch of the new digital channel BBC Four. To promote its cultural channel. Emin was commissioned by the BBC to create a gift to accompany the VIP invitation to the launch party of BBC Four. Recipients will be invited to the launch party, which will take place in a former rug factory in east London on 28 February. The invitations took the form of a small brown cardboard box containing a card, with the Emin-designed handkerchief tied round it. On it, Emin has written: "BBC Four: Everybody needs a place to think." The invitation card says: "Please bring this invite with you otherwise you're not going to get in, love Tracey." The gift invitation includes printed text by Tracey Emin in her recognisable handwriting with the instructions, 'Please bring This invitation with you/otherwise, you're not going to get in/Love Tracey X'. While event goers were able to keep the handkerchief, they gave up their invitations on arrival, making this set of both, invitation and handkerchief rarer.
