Exit Through The Gift Shop is a mockumentary "edited" by Banksy, in which a film-maker hanging out with key street artists decides to cash in on the art world's credulity, himself – (The Telegraph, 6 March 2010). ‘Forgive Us Our Trespassing’, Salt Lake City, Utah- First appeared in 2010 as street graffiti art, the image in Forgive Us Our Trespassing sets aside Banksy’s usual biting satire and derision, revealing instead subtler, more nuanced sentiments. The iconic image of the praying boy kneeling beside a can of paint and a brush first appeared on a wall in Salt Lake City, Utah. About the Art and Artists: Signed By: Sir Peter Blake RA & Chris Gabrin In Pencil Chris Gabrin talks about All New Boots and Panties I first met Ian Dury in 1973 when his band Kilburn and the Highroads were playing the pub circuit and immediately was impressed by Ian Dury’s talent, wit and style. We became friends and when Ian Dury signed to Stiff Records in 1977 he called and asked me to take some pictures for his album sleeve (untitled at the time). There was no particular theme in mind and we started with some uninspiring shots outside his flat in The Oval in South London. Ian Dury had his son, Baxter, with him and suggested we went to a shop he knew, Axfords in Victoria, which Sir Peter Blake had introduced him to. I only shot 24 exposures and Baxter was in just four of them. As soon as the films were developed Ian Dury came round and we immediately chose the same shot. We were so excited by the picture that we went straight into my darkroom and made the first print. The album title New Boots And Panties was subsequently coined by Ian Dury. After Ians death in 2000, a tribute album was released, a re-recording of New Boots by guest artists under the title of Brand New Boots And Panties. Sir Peter Blake did a painting of Ian Dury for the front cover and requested that we use my photo on the back of the sleeve. Rob Smeaton of Rockoptic, an old friend from my art college days, was working with Sir Peter Blake on publishing limited edition prints of his work and came up with the brainwave of a joint artwork combining the two images. Working with Sir Peter Blake was one of the highlights of my life. This unforgettable experience, however, was tempered with sadness over the loss of Ian Dury. The subsequent artwork, All New Boots And Panties, which we created with the aid of Brad Faine, Peters long-time printmaker is a both a tribute and a fond farewell to Ian Dury from both of us. Title: Thomas The Tank Engine & Friends Original Unique Quad Artwork 1992 Free Post In UK Description: Two for the price of one, amazing artwork for Thomas the Tank Engine & Friends issue 151 from 1994 with Percy and another engine ( Gordon ? ) . Timothy Marwood (died 2008) I had the honour of purchasing the entire collection by Timothy when he moved house, he signed each of the 3000+ pieces of artwork and told me of the 3000 there were probably about 100 in colour and the comics were coloured by computer which was cheaper for the publishers. Since 1984 Timothy Marwood has been the sole illustrator for both of Thomas the Tank Engine and Friends comics produced by Marvel & Redan publishers. (At the end of 1999 Redan purchased the contract from Marvel). The fame and popularity of Thomas the Tank Engine and Friends dipped in the 1970's but then in 1984 the BBC launched him on Television and he has never looked back. A large part of this is due to the exceptionally fine and accurate work of Timothy. His other work includes Rosie and Jim, Enid Blyton The Famous Five, Enid Blyton's The Secret Seven and also Thunderbirds. When not painting or drawing for the comics his pleasure comes from painting marine scenes. Your Picture was used at the Very Beginning of the entire success story of Thomas & friends. Timothy Marwood (died 2008) I had the honour of purchasing the entire collection by Timothy when he moved house, he signed each of the 3000+ pieces of artwork and told me of the 3000 there were probably about 100 in colour and the comics were coloured by computer which was cheaper for the publishers. Since 1984 Timothy Marwood has been the sole illustrator for both of Thomas the Tank Engine and Friends comics produced by Marvel & Redan publishers. (At the end of 1999 Redan purchased the contract from Marvel). The fame and popularity of Thomas the Tank Engine and Friends dipped in the 1970's but then in 1984 the BBC launched him on Television and he has never looked back. A large part of this is due to the exceptionally fine and accurate work of Timothy. His other work includes Rosie and Jim, Enid Blyton The Famous Five, Enid Blyton's The Secret Seven and also Thunderbirds. When not painting or drawing for the comics his pleasure comes from painting marine scenes. Your Picture was used at the Very Beginning of the entire success story of Thomas & friends.
