Comprising: Tuesday’s Child is full of grace Wednesday’s Child knows no woe Each tankard is of cylindrical form with gilt-lined rim and handle, decorated with floral garlands and a charming child illustration to the reverse. Both bear the printed Royal Worcester Bone China – Made in England factory stamp to the underside, along with the script “Hand Painted”, consistent with production in the 1950s–1960s. Dimensions (each): 11 × 8.5 × 8 cm (height) Condition: Very good vintage condition. No chips, cracks or repairs. Light surface wear and minimal rubbing to the gilt consistent with age. Executed in blush ivory ground with rich gilded detail and applied pierced gilt handles in the Aesthetic style. The painting is of a notably high standard, with delicate brushwork and fine gilt highlights. Marked to the base with the puce Royal Worcester factory mark, date code for 1887, and registered design number Rd No. 71590. The interior is glazed white and the base is marked with the Old Tupton Ware crown factory stamp.
