To paint PURE EVIL the brand, a cherry picker was used to reach the underside of the carriageway to advertise his now Trade Mark brand PURE EVIL. Knowing that there was a possibility that some of his inaugural and early Graffiti work would be painted over Charles immediately created 20 stencil, and hand-painted twenty faithful copies of the original. Each piece signed with the PURE EVIL trade mark moniker and Titled ‘Study for the Westway’. And, comes with a COA from the renowned Brandler Gallery. The Westway is a 2.5-mile (4 km) elevated dual carriageway section of the A40 trunk road in West London running from Paddington in the east to North Kensington in the west. It connects the London Inner Ring Road to the West London suburbs. Other ARTISTS work the Westway and the Westway has featured in songs by several British rock bands. The Clash referred to the road in "London's Burning". The Sound of the Westway, the cover for The Jam's 1977 album, Blur's 1993 song "For Tomorrow" mentions that the protagonist couple in the song are "lost on the Westway", and the road is mentioned in two other songs by the band, "Fool's Day" and "Under the Westway". Local group Hawkwind played several free benefit and charity concerts underneath the motorway Charles Uzzell-Edwards produces Pop-inspired prints and street art under the moniker Pure Evil. The U.K.-born and -based artist’s vibrant, stencilled, spray-paint figurations riff on distinctly American iconography such as the Statue of Liberty and on Andy Warhol subjects such as Marilyn Monroe, Elvis Presley, and Elizabeth Taylor. Many of his portraits feature a signature splotch of paint, which drips like a tear just below the character’s eye. Pure Evil’s path to artmaking was long and varied. Timothy did ALL the artwork for over 30 years for the books & comics ( which in turn inspired the film) and this is a whole page illustration. A Great Present for a child/grandchild and each one comes with a Certificate of Authenticity and a copy of the leaflet from the Exhibition at "The Station - Richmond North Yorkshire where about 100 of Timothy's pieces were exhibited. Post is £15- ordinary or £22- Special delivery and £35.00 international regardless of if you buy 1 or all 6 Timothy Marwood (died 2008) I had the honour of purchasing the entire collection by Timothy when he moved house, he signed each of the 3000+ pieces of artwork and told me of the 3000 there were probably about 100 in colour and the comics were coloured by computer which was cheaper for the publishers. Since 1984 Timothy Marwood has been the sole illustrator for both of Thomas the Tank Engine and Friends comics produced by Marvel & Redan publishers. (At the end of 1999 Redan purchased the contract from Marvel). The fame and popularity of Thomas the Tank Engine and Friends dipped in the 1970's but then in 1984 the BBC launched him on Television and he has never looked back. A large part of this is due to the exceptionally fine and accurate work of Timothy. His other work includes Rosie and Jim, Enid Blyton The Famous Five, Enid Blyton's The Secret Seven and also Thunderbirds. When not painting or drawing for the comics his pleasure comes from painting marine scenes. Your Picture was used at the Very Beginning of the entire success story of Thomas & friends. A large 38 x 38 in I 965 x 965 mm screenprint in vibrant blue black colours with blue and red diamond dust, on Lenox Museum Board dated 1985. Published by Ronald Feldman Fine Arts, Inc., New York, with the artist's and publisher's copyright ink stamp on the reverse, the full sheet is in very good condition, unframed. Screen-printed in colours with diamond dust, Superman features the most iconic superhero of the 20th Century, a creation of D.C. Comics.
