Title: Connor Brothers Unique Edition There Is Nothing So Seductive - For Charity COA Free Post Worldwide Description: I was in the studio one day telling the Connor Brothers about an amazing charity where the chief exec. does not take a penny, called Breast Cancer Research, based in Epping. They said that they would give me a print to sell for them, so I looked at some that were sitting around. Mike said no - They would give me an entire unique edition, so we discussed images & size, etc., and there were two - I chose There is nothing so seductive. That weekend I showed the chief surgeon the two images, and he agreed it was a great image - but he preferred the second image, " The way to love anything is to realise it might be lost" which, I suppose, is relevant to Breast Cancer - his speciality. ( after saying a very rude word to myself) So, while he was there, I phoned Mike and explained, told him to stop the printing/signing and PLEASE Could we have the other image? Without missing a breath, Mike said we could have both editions! Nothing on social media/press or those phoney photographs with large dummy cheques to tell the world how nice they are. The Street Graffitti art was sprayed when Banksy visited New Orleans, three years after the devastation of Hurricane Katrina. There, Banksy used the still-tattered urban fabric of New Orleans as an eloquent backdrop for his critique of the situation. Banksy painted Abraham Lincoln as a homeless man, pushing a trolley full of goods, using the same stencil he would employ for these works on cardboard. The building upon which Banksy had painted his image of Lincoln has since been demolished to make way for a healthcare facility. He is an established graffiti artist and had a great amount of influence on artists such as Banksy. His work is extensively published by Black Rat Publishing. His paintings often feature a gentleman called “vandal” with a bowler hat, which featured in a video by The Black Eyed Peas. Walker’s signature “vandal” figure, an alter-ego who consistently appears in a black suit and bowler hat, is representative of the artist’s desire to imbue his detailed pieces with irony and humour. Walker’s paintings now sell for large sums of money. In 2006 a spray painted work titled “Moona Lisa” sold for an unexpected £54,000 at Bonhams in London. At a solo exhibition at London’s Black Rat Gallery in 2008, £750,000 worth of art sold. Besides, there were dozens of people camping overnight in front of the gallery. Walker was a major participant in the 2011 See No Evil event in Bristol, where he painted “perhaps the most striking piece at the event”. One of his gentleman with bowler hat on the side of a tower block in Nelson Street. Walker still lives in Bristol and is best known for merging freehand work with stencilled imagery. As a forerunner of this technique, he believes that the combination allows him to “juxtapose almost photographic imagery with the rawness which evolved from conventional graffiti styles.” In addition to traditional street art, Walker famously recreated the graffitied streets of New York for Stanley Kubrick’s 1999 film, Eyes Wide Shut. Title: Bernard Cookson Famous Cartoonist Original Drawing For Evening News Paper 1908 Free Post UK Royalty Description: Shortly after attending the Manchester School of Art from 1953 to 1956, Cookson became a visualizer for an advertising company. He worked as an RAF Photographic Interpreter while deployed in Cyprus during his National Service.[1] Cookson saw his first cartoon published in 1965, in the Daily Mirror . He took over Eric Burgin’s TV strip, The Nightelys, after the illustrator died in 1966. Cookson's cartoons were published in many publications including the London Evening News, the Sporting Life, the Daily Express, the Sun, the Mail on Sunday, The Oldie and The Spectator. He was also a regular contributor to Punch. He has written comedy sketches for The Two Ronnies, Dave Allen and Tommy Cooper, alongside his good friend and fellow cartoonist Stan 'Mac' McMurtry. Cookson illustrated for over 20 books by various authors, such as Maria Perry, William Donaldson, and John Timpson. He published and illustrated for his own books, Wine Lovers and ‘Til Divorce Us Do Part. He published his last novel, The Fifth Day, in 2009. Cookson said of his work: "One of the most common questions people ask is: 'do you do the captions as well?' Perhaps they imagine that I just draw a picture, in the hope that it will become funny if someone puts a suitably funny caption below". It measures 25 x 20 cm and is posted unframed for security. Title: Tracey Emin Time Out Print Limited Edition Only 500 Free Post UK Description: Tracey Emin unsigned “ Love is What You Want” A Limited edition (500) created for charity and printed by Time Out Tracey Emin (born 1963) is an English artist, one of the so-called Young British Artists (YBAs). She is probably only second to Damien Hirst among the YBAs in terms of notoriety among the general public. In particular, her piece My Bed, part of 1999's Turner Prize exhibition, and consisted of her own unmade bed complete with used condoms and blood-stained undaerwear, brought her a great deal of attention from the press. Emin was born in London, but brought up in Margate. She has a twin brother Paul. Emin's father was married to a woman other than her mother and while still young he abandoned the family which lead to a decline in their standard of living, an event which has featured in a number of works. Around the age of 14 she was raped. She initially studied art in Maidstone which she has described as one of the best experiences of her life where she was greatly influenced by Billy Childish, then returned to London to study at the Royal College of Art, where she obtained an MA in painting. She was initially influenced by Edvard Munch and Egon Schiele, though later destroyed all her paintings from this early period. Later still, she studied philosophy at Birkbeck. In 1993 Emin opened a shop called simply The Shop in Bethnal Green with fellow artist Sarah Lucas. This sold works by the two of them, including t-shirts and ash trays with Damien Hirst's picture stuck to the bottom. Lucas paid Emin a wage to mind the shop and she also made extra money by agreeing to write letters to people one of which was Jay Jopling who became her dealer. During this period Emin was also working with the gallerist Joshua Compston. In 1994 she had her first solo show at the White Cube gallery, one of the most significant galleries in London. It was called My Major Retrospective, and was typically autobiographical, consisting of personal photographs, and photos of her now- destroyed early paintings as well as items which most artists would not consider showing in public, such as a packet of cigarettes her uncle was holding when decapitated in a car crash. This willingness to show details of what would generally be thought of as her private life has become one of Emin's trademarks.
